Description
Two of the things that make the series stand out is its duo of unorthodox investigators and the offbeat cases they tackle.
With an amazing track record of all cases solved, Kazimierz Proch is a legend among Warsaw prosecutors. Chic, charismatic and introverted, his life is made up of criminal riddles, stylish cloths, jigsaw-puzzles, an old tape-eating walkman and past memories he is trying to shake off but which come back to haunt him at the least expected times.
Witold Kielak is his polar opposite. Spontaneous (sometimes excessively so), extrovert and cool, his mouth is faster than his brain. This divorced father of two cute kids breathes life into Proch’s rigid, neatly ordered world. The clash of the two personalities leads to many humorous moments.
Other characters include pathologist Ewa Sidlecka (Magdalena Cielecka), Prosecution Office Head Janina Chorko (Dorota Kolak), criminologist Dziadek (Janusz Michałowski) and his stand-in, Polak (Cezary Kosiński).
Ewa Sidlecka is a stunning, no-nonsense woman, hooked on cigarettes and her job which, despite many indications to the contrary, is her passion. She won’t rest until she uncovers the true cause of death – even if the circumstantial evidence points in a completely different direction.
Janina Chorko is Proch’s superior. She is intelligent, good-looking and likes to keep the prosecutors’ office working like a well-oiled machine. Perhaps this is why she and Proch get along like a house of fire.
The series is set Warsaw, the city that still offers unique locations never seen on film before.
