Brać czy nie brać (Take It or Leave It) is an exciting race in which the hosts hunt for treasures of the past. Łukasz Radwan and Michał Wójcik, who are history buffs, travel in a van to all corners of Poland searching for unique vintage and antique items. They have a fixed budget with which they buy items with an eye for resale. Each van conversation offers viewers interesting facts about the places they visit, information about what items they hunt for and which ones are the most coveted and interesting.
As they visit markets, private apartments, factories and scrap yards, the hosts openly comment on their decisions, engaging in a thrilling race with each other. They go to Kraków, the famous antique market in Włocławek and the Tykocin fair – each of which has something different to offer.
The finale of each episode is a moment of truth – Łukasz and Michał meet up with experts who judge whether the items they have bought are worth the money they paid and (each in their area of expertise) announce the winner who has made a better deal.
Brać czy nie brać consists of 10 episodes exploring the amazing world of people for whom bargain hunting is a passion, a way to explore history and a thrill as it can bring both satisfaction and money.
The hosts, Michał Wójcik and Łukasz Radwan, are a great asset of the show. As they go in search of the Holy Grail, they engage in riveting wordplay and a duel of personalities and tempers, living proof that the opposites attract.
Hosts:
Łukasz Radwan is a journalist, art promoter and prominent figure in the Polish art scene. Known for his sharp tongue and uncompromising views, he was labeled ‘the bull terrier of Polish art’, which he takes as a complement.
Michał Wójcik is a historian who has hosted various TV shows. He has worked for Radio ZET and Przekrój magazine, chief-edited Focus and Focus Historia and co-authored a number of books including Teraz ’44.
