New episodes of The Lousy World have begun filming in Wrocław. The new season, comprising 12 episodes, is expected to hit the airwaves in the fall. The creators of the series that is hailed as the world’s longest-running sitcom are currently filming its 500th episode!

Zbigniew Wodecki will be a special guest on one of the new episodes. He will turn out to be an old friend of Chairman Kozłowski, who will talk him into coming to Wrocław, which is the European Capital of Culture 2016.

The new episodes will have the characters face romantic hurdles. Mariola will meet the man of her life, but her parents’ first meeting with him will leave them dumbstruck. Although handsome and a non-drinker, Roman will turn out to be not quite… human. Ferdek and Paździoch will get themselves in trouble on the romantic front too. On-the-sly texting will prove the final straw.

Ferdek will ride a flying carpet choosing Malinowska’s convenience store as his first destination. He will also be involved in organising the local priest’s round of visits to parishioners, a symbolic event for him. Kiepski will also find a job at a corporation in a rather prominent position.

The tenement residents will also celebrate in style to mark special days such as Marian’s Day and Father’s Day, the only days of the year when the people being feted will have all their wishes granted. Even Helena Paździoch, who detests her husband, will have to bow down to the new rules.

Patrick Yoka is the helmer of the new season. The writers’ team includes Aleksander Sobiszewski, Katarzyna Sobiszewska and Patrick Yoka. Among guest appearances we will see Henryk Gołębiewski, Joanna Kurowska, Andrzej Gałła, Zofia Czerwińska, Krzysztof Dracz, Jerzy Cnota, Lech Dyblik and Marek Pyś. The new episodes (493–504) are slated to air this fall on Polsat.
