Saturday June 25, 2016 – the date of David Gilmour’s long-awaited concert on Freedom Square (plac Wolności) in Wrocław as part of the European Capital of Culture programme, will live long in the memories his fans. Gilmour came to Wrocław to promote his fourth solo album, Rattle That Lock. The artist and his band teamed up with the 30-piece Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zbigniew Preisner, with audience-favorite jazz piano player Leszek Możdżer acting as a support.
Gilmour delivered three hours of music to an over-20,000 crowd, playing 23 songs, both tracks from his new album and classic Pink Floyd hits.
‘Fantastic Concert’ and ‘Three Hours of Fulfillment’, read the headlines after the concert. The reviewers also praised the sound quality, stage lighting and round-screen projections.
