For the third time, “First Love” actors will donate blood as part of Wrocław Bloodstream: Share Life, a blood donation drive which will be held on Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22 in Wrocław’s Town Square. The event is organized by I Have A Dream Foundation, Wrocław Children’s Hospice Foundation and the Regional Center for Blood Donation and Haemotherapy.
The donated blood will benefit children in local hospitals. “First Love” actors will make their contribution at about 2 p.m. by the statue of Aleksander Fredro at the Town Hall entrance. The donors’ list will include Maciej Tomaszewski (Marek), Rafał Kwietniewski (Bartek), Anna Ilczuk (Emilka) and Mariusz Bąkowski (Mariusz).
“‘First Love’ actors will come out again to support our drive”, says Katarzyna Klimaszko, a volunteer of the Wrocław branch of I Have A Dream Foundation, an organization dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of sick children. “Maciej Tomaszewski will join us for the third time. The series’ actors have helped us fulfill children’s dreams in the past. One boy wanted to star in a movie and be a magician. To make his dream come true, the creators of “First Love” added a plotline to the script and shot it”, adds Klimaszko.
The characters of “First Love” are now undergoing a test of humanity. They helped find a bone marrow donor for Mariusz, a boy suffering from leukemia, and now they are helping him through the difficult moments of recovery.
For the first time, this year’s blood donation drive will have a nationwide reach, including 15 other big cities. Everyone who is at least 18 years old and undergoes medical tests can become a blood donor (11 a.m.–17 p.m.). One donor can help up to three children. The previous drives held in Wrocław yielded a total of 104 liters of blood.
