Some of the series airing on Poland’s leading television channels will end their runs in late May but “First Love”, which airs on Polsat, will not wrap until June 16. Industry portals and TV guides have announced an earlier end of the spring season but fans will have the chance to follow premiere episodes of “First Love” until June 16 (Polsat, Monday-Friday, 6 p.m.). New twists will include the wedding of Ewelina (Magda Górska) and Bartek (Rafał Kwietniewski) after Bartek’s hot stag party. Some thriller plotlines will also be thrown into the mix. Olaf (Bartosz Żukowski) will implicate Mikser (Błażej Michalski) in illicit diamond trafficking, Kinga (Aleksandra Zienkiewicz) will be kidnapped by Manuel (Wojciech Medyński), and Manual and Paweł (Mikołaj Krawczyk) will duel to the death. In addition, Paweł will propose to Anna (Agnieszka Włodarczyk), and the final episode, where Marysia (Aneta Zając) goes into labor, will have an unexpected ending.
From January to May 21 “First Love” averaged 2.3 million viewers with an average share of 24% in the 19-49 demographic (a 5.8% surge this year). The average share of “First Love” among viewers aged 19-49 is 15% higher than that of “Straight into the Heart”, the series airing in almost the same time slot on TVN (22.8% share). The episode that aired this Wednesday, May 25, was one of the most watched episodes of “First Love” this season. It featured Paweł spending another day at the bedside of comatose Anna, shot by Manuel, who finally awakes from the coma, and the mishaps of Ewelina, who has lost her engagement ring. The episode drew 2.2 million viewers with a 33.7% share in the 19-49 age group – the highest in 2011. For comparison, the Wednesday episode of “Straight into the Heart” attracted 1.9 million with a 20.9% share in the 19-49 demographic.
