Viewership for ATM Group series “The Ranch”, “Ojciec Mateusz”, “First Love” and “Kiepski’s World” is up in 2010. The fifth season of “The Ranch” (Sunday, TVP1, 8:20 p.m.) is currently averaging 6.7 million viewers. Last year 4 million viewers on average tuned in to watch the series’ reruns, a testament that the new episodes were eagerly awaited. With a 30.9% share in the 19-49 demographic (up from 22.7%), “The Ranch” tops the list of the most watched TV series and films, ahead of “This Must Be Love”.
The series dominates its time slot putting TVP1 ahead of its competitors. The final episode of the season will air on June 5, with the sixth season set to begin filming in August.
“Ojciec Mateusz” (Thursday, TVP1, 8:25 p.m.) has also posted gains in 2011. The firth season of the series, which ended its run in the last week of May, claimed an average 5 million viewers compared to last year’s 4.4 million. The average share among those aged 19-49 has also gone up from 23.4% in 2010 to 26.4% in the 2011 spring season. “Ojciec Mateusz” dominates its time slot, making TVP1 the market leader. The series’ Sunday repeats also fared well averaging 3.6 million viewers and a 24.5% share in the 19-49 demographic. The sixth season of the series, featuring a glittering array of young stars, among them Magda Lamparska, Alan Andersz, Natalia Lesz. Edyta Herbuś, Daria Widawska, Tomasz Ciachorowski, Mariusz Zaniewski, Bartosz Obuchowicz, is slated to air this fall.
“Kiepski’s World” (Wednesday, Polsat, 8 p.m.) also gained viewers. This is probably due to the comeback of Walduś, played by Bartosz Żukowski. The series’ premiere episodes averaged 2.3 million viewers this spring compared to last year’s 1.8 million. In addition to a 25% rise in ratings, the series’ share is up 23% (to 15.4%) among viewers 4+, and 16% (to 17.2%) in the 19-49 demographic. New episodes of “Kiepski’s World” are set to begin production in July for a premiere this fall.
Soap “First Love” (Monday-Friday, Polsat, 6 p.m.) continues to deliver high viewership figures. This spring its average audience has grown to 2.2 million, including a 10% rise in the 19-49 demographic (to 26.3%), which shows that the series has a loyal following. The episode that aired on Wednesday, May 25, had a record share of 33.7% in the 19-49 age group. The average share of “First Love” in the 19-49 demographic this spring is 15% higher than that of “Straight Into the Heart”, the series airing in almost the same time slot on TVN (22.8% share). “First Love” will be among the few series with the longest runs this season – it will not wrap until June 16. New episodes, which are due to air this fall, will begin filming on new sets in the second half of June.
