The premiere episodes of the new season of “Nurses”, which have been airing since March 2 on Polsat TV, attracted more viewers than in the first week of broadcast last year. Despite stronger competition, the series remains unchallenged in its time slot.
In the four days since the premiere of its first episode, “Nurses” drew the largest number of viewers in its time slot (742,000). The shows on rival channels attracted much worse ratings than the stories of the daily life of nurses – a similar documentary-style series had 536,000 viewers while a series centered around school life drew an audience of 591,000. The show is mostly watched by women.
In its first week last year, “Nurses” averaged 612,000 viewers. In the spring and fall 2014, the show maintained the number one rating in its time slot.
“Nurses”, a documentary-style series produced by ATM Grupa S.A. for Polsat TV, is not only about illnesses, but, above all else, it is an emotion-packed story about people, their problems and everyday dilemmas. The hospital serves only as a backdrop, as it is in settings such as a hospital bed that we get to contemplate our lives. “Nurses” is also, or perhaps most importantly, a story about women who do the noble but difficult job of the nurse.
In the new season, slated to launch on March 2, viewers will witness both shocking and moving moments. Patients will include a woman who used to be a man, a husband who pleads guilty to causing someone’s death to save his wife, and a mother who was not aware she was raising someone else’s child.
The new season will bring many changes in the characters’ lives. Danusia will start feverish preparations for her wedding, Ewa will be going through a rough patch after splitting with Hubert, and Jadwiga will find out that being a grandmother is no easy task. We will also see Julita in the new role of adoptive mother and find out if Małgosia’s relationship with a sought-after photographer stands the test of time and if Ania manages to reconcile with her father before he dies.
The new episodes of “Nurses” air from March 2 on Polsat, Monday to Friday at 12 noon.
