Description
This is a story about the daily lives, both in and out of the workplace, of several Polish homicide detectives; cops who don’t resemble Dirty Harry or Kojak. They’re lone wolves but have to work together as a team.
‘Pitbull’ opened in theaters in April of 2005 to immediate critical acclaim. Although the film differed from its Hollywood counterparts its storylines rang true with Polish audiences. The film stars police officers who straddle the line between the law and morality. The action takes place in Warsaw where police officers from the Homicide Unit are investigating a series of Armenians who have been murdered. They get in touch with Vorvzakonnic, who plays a role of a ‘judge’ in the crime world. In the meantime, Said, who is responsible for numerous kidnappings and murders of various Armenian dealers, is abroad in hiding. Wor wants to get even with him and so he sets up a Warsaw police officer by the name of Despero by sending Said’s daughter Jemma to seduce him. The plan works and Said is lured back to Poland. The theme and plot of the movie are based on materials collected by Patryk Vega while making a documentary for television and includes scenes that couldn’t be shown. The character Said is based on a real person who is now serving time in a Polish prison. Pit Bull is a police thriller with strong psychological themes. The life of a police officer isn’t all about riveting car chases but is also made up of endless red tape, addiction and slave wages. Sometimes the only way out seems to be to switch sides. The movie was turned into a TV series, Pit Bull, also a production of ATM Grupa S.A.
